Bakuchi, also known as the Babchi plant has become highly coveted for its natural retinol mimicking abilities. Bakuchi delivers skin-renewal properties and anti-aging effects without the irritation, sun sensitivity or dryness from lab produced Retinol.
A component of Bakuchi is Bakuchiol and it's this specific element that stimulates collagen and elastin production which is why it is fractionated out of the Bakuchi Virgin Oil. However, Bakuchiol is generally present in Bakuchi oil between 2-5%, the whole Bakuchi Virgin oil is complex and should not be dismissed. Having a versatile fatty acid profile high in Linoleic acid and Oleic acid is what makes this carrier oil a preferred option for facial serums, eye creams and anti-aging creams.
Traditionally an Ayurvedic medicine Bakuchi is non-greasy and is suitable for body oils.
Bakuchiol is still in its early research stages, however physical noticeable differences take longer than synthesised retinol options - up to 12 weeks.
