Meet the earthYARD team

In this digital (and for now, locked down) world, it's always nice to get to know some of the people that bring us our favourite products. Our people are the most essential aspect of our beloved essential oils, so we thought we'd give you a little introduction to a few of our team members.

David

What do you do at earthYARD?
I'm the Director of EarthYARD. I have passive input into the over arching aspect of the company such as product mix, budgets, growth direction etc.

What is your favourite essential or carrier oil and why?
Essential oil: Eucalyptus radiata – unique aromatic properties.
Carrier oil: Jojoba – complexity and application diversity.

What is one thing that you like to do naturally?
Harvest and distil plants.

What is your favourite TV Show, podcast, book or music to binge on?
Reading musician biographies – favourites are Roger Daltrey, Ben Folds and Oasis.

Can you share a tip that is helping you manage through lockdown?
Treat it as the new normal and get on with it.

Bec & Josie

What is your name and what do you do at earthYARD?
Bec (right) Co-Founder of EarthYARD – Master of ideas and distractions and techy stuff. Josie (left) Chief pointer and squealer, champion of morale.

What is your favourite essential or carrier oil and why?
Bec: White Cypress Leaf Oil – I’m in love with the growing excitement over this oil and super impressed with its qualities.
Josie: Lavender – Mum says it calms me down a bit.

What is one thing that you like to do naturally?
Bec: Look after my family’s hair and skin with natural ingredients in home made products. I know what I’m exposing them to by making it myself.
Josie: Paint! Especially when it’s made with baby cereal or cornflour with food dye – YUM!

What is your favourite TV Show, podcast, book or music to binge on?
Bec: I’m really loving doing deep dives into the back catalogues of 70s folk and rock groups like Little Feat, Mamas and the Papas, Crosby Stills and Nash. But to escape I’m a hopeless Real Housewives fan.
Josie: I don’t like TV much but if you put on the music video channel I get very excited.

Can you share a tip that is helping you manage through lockdown?
Bec: Keep making plans. Small plans or long term plans, and chip away at them every day. Using this time to really focus on building a better future for earthYARD is really helping me maintain a balanced mind.
Josie: Food! I just realised that real food is fantastic! Especially when shared at the dinner table.

Kim

What do you do at earthYARD?
Kim Johnson, Sales and Service Manager.

What is your favourite essential or carrier oil and why?
Argan Oil, I use it on my face every day, morning and night. It is so light and soothing.

What is one thing that you like to do naturally?
I use a pure and natural skincare regime morning and night.

What is your favourite TV Show, podcast, book or music to binge on?
Hmmmm, so many. Hacks at the moment, loved Yellowstone, love you-tubing music and listening to Spotify.

Can you share a tip that is helping you manage through lockdown?
I think it helps to keep in contact with family and friends as much as possible, keep busy and enjoy your music.

Nick

What do you do at earthYARD?
G’day! My name is Nick and my role at earthYARD is to manage orders placed by our lovely customers, maintain our stock of amazing oils, and to help everything in our warehouse run smoothly.

What is your favourite essential or carrier oil and why?
My favourite essential oil right now is Eucalyptus Peppermint Gum. It’s as Aussie as you could ever get, has an amazing and distinctive aroma, and is fantastic on its own or in a blend.

What is one thing that you like to do naturally?
I like to make little garden beds out of recycled containers and grow my own herbs to cook with. My basil and coriander are going great at the moment, and I am loving finding new recipes to use them in.

What is your favourite TV Show, podcast, book or music to binge on?
For sure Lord of the Rings. I’m halfway through the first book at the moment and every time I re-read the series I find something new to love.

Can you share a tip that is helping you manage through lockdown?
I’ve been thoroughly enjoying finding new dishes from YouTube to cook on the weekends. It’s very rewarding, sometimes challenging, and just feels like a perfect time to strengthen my skills in the kitchen.
