Recipes for cleanliness

Isn’t it funny that everyone is stressing the importance of cleanliness at the moment when really we should all be practising good hygiene every day. Keeping clean, has always been an integral part of everything we do, working with the products that we work with every day has instilled in us a need to have these issues top of mind for personal safety and product safety.
I must admit I have enjoyed the many fantastically creative cleaning ideas that have spawned out of this new intensive focus, including all those wonderful natural hand sanitisers and antibacterial cleaners.

Here are two of our favourite recipes that we’ve come across so far:

Currently we’re not providing the sale of the alcohol, though you can pick these items up from chemists, supermarkets, hardware stores, speciality online stores and bottle shops. If you’re choosing Vodka and Gin over pure alcohol make sure it is at least 70% alcohol for it to be effective.

natural hand sanitiser

Recipe 1
Hand Sanitizer
750mL ethanol/denatured methylated spirits/isopropyl alcohol/vodka/gin
50mL Witch Hazel
200mL Aloe Vera Gel
4 drops Orange Oil, 4 drops Tea Tree Oil, 2 drops Sandalwood Oil.
Sterilise all tools and bowls before making.
In a bowl mix the alcohol with the witch hazel and Aloe Vera Gel. Add your essential oils, mix and store in a sterilised spray bottle.

(Hand sanitizer recipes, including the one above, are not endorsed by WHO or any health organisation. Only use homemade hand sanitizers in extreme situations when handwashing isn’t available or in conjunction with hand washing. Seek caution on sensitive skin – where possible follow proper health guidelines)
